Joel Edmondson was QMusic CEO from 2015 - 2019, and now heads up the Queensland Music Festival. QMusic is Queensland's music industry development association, best known for delivering Australia's international music industry conference and festival of new music, BIGSOUND, as well as a range of programs and partnerships designed to develop a more sustainable music industry in Queensland.

Joel's career has spanned a diverse range of music industry roles, as well as over a decade in change management and change leadership roles in the government and non-profit sectors. Joel is a distinction alumni of Griffith University, RMIT and the University of Edinburgh, and has tertiary qualifications in management, digital media production, music in the community, and cultural studies. He specialises in leading the evolution of cultural and community institutions by developing innovative partnerships and services, and transforming organisational culture.
