A Session With Chris Johnson - Former Amrap Manager

Chris Johnson

You can find Chris's content in the following courses:

Chris Johnson has been a radio and new-media executive for over a decade. He was formerly the manager of the Australian Music Radio Airplay Project (Amrap), and was Head of Programs and Services at the Community Broadcasting Association of Australian (CBAA). Amrap is funded by the Commonwealth Government to distribute new Australian music to community radio and to empower broadcasters to promote Australian artists on air and online. Chris created ‘Amrap’s AirIt’ and ‘Amrap Pages’ to meet the challenge and since 2010 over 3,000 broadcasters from 300 stations have used Amrap to order over 250,000 Australian tracks for airplay and to promote Australian artists through web, mobile and social media. He may have moved on from this role, but his words are certainly still very important and relevent.

We were lucky enough to catch up with him at BIGSOUND where we asked him about his role at Amrap and Airit and how musicians can use the amazing opportunities being offered through these programs.
