Brett Oaten established his legal practice during the grunge era and specialises in music and other entertainment matters. In the music industry he principally represents artists and some current clients include 360, Angus & Julia Stone, Empire Of The Sun, Lorde, and Troye Sivan. He is also a founding board member and life member of FBI Radio.

He is a busy guy, and likes to get up and start work pretty early so we met at the very un-rock-n-roll hour of 7.30 am in his Sydney offices to record this fantastic session full of advice not just for musicians and their teams, but also for those considering a career as a music lawyer.
