If this sounds like something of interest, then we want to hear from you! We are now seeking an INTERN in the area of music publicity and administration to join our team. GYROstream is a brand new music services company – based in Fortitude Valley.
We’re looking for a STAR intern with the potential to move into full time PR, playlist plugging and marketing work.
Purpose of the role:
This is an unpaid internship – however, basic costs are covered (where required) and a computer/ phone is supplied. Internship duration is a minimum of one-day per week for up to six weeks, with the potential for extension. Flexibility will be given around tertiary studies and other work commitments.
You must be driven and passionate about the music industry and be able work within deadlines. You will be working on exciting campaigns and actively engaging the media and playlisters.
This exciting and challenging internship will provide the kind of work experience that will set you aside from your peers.
Key responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Marketing and PR Manager, you will help launch Australia’s newest music services company. The successful applicant will need to be organised and have the ability to take on miscellaneous general responsibilities on a day to day basis. You will be consistently learning and discovering techniques to ensure our clients get the best campaign outcome.
Knowledge/ Experience/ Qualifications:
- Experience in a music industry related field
- Music industry qualification preferable but not essential
Key competencies and personal qualities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Professional phone manner
- A passion for writing
- Basic computer skills
- A passion for the music industry
- An understanding of the structures of the Australian and New Zealand media landscape
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Initiative and ability to work unsupervised
- A desire to work long term in the music industry
- Previous publicity experience desired, but not essential
- Above all, punctuality and reliability is key
