Now approaching its ninth iteration, MMW brings audiences and artists together in celebration of our city’s global reputation as a music capital. Every year, MMW partners with first-rate venues, promoters, labels and music businesses to deliver a memorable sonic journey for Victorians and global music fans alike.
By occupying a different iconic location each year as its flagship venue and festival hub, MMW dares to reimagine everyday spaces and breathes creative life into the often overlooked corners of Melbourne.
MMW is known for its unique co-production model. Utilised as the primary programming tool for the MMW calendar of events, much of the program is developed in collaboration and consultation with the Victorian music sector. By partnering with a range of independent promoters, venues, labels and businesses MMW forges exclusive opportunities for both artists and audiences alike. By working in this way, MMW is not only able to support the Victorian music scene but is also able to provide a stage and voice for local practitioners and makers.
Last year, MMW hosted over 44,000 attendees across its nine day program with a 2.6 million dollar economic impact. The event spanned 34 locations with 270 contributing artists and 100 event partners.
Inspired music industry professionals across Victoria are encouraged to get involved with MMW. There are numerous ways to be a part of the official program. We invite individuals, groups, businesses and venues to apply via an EOI and be a part of MMW18.
There are five key program areas open for application. EOIs are open for five and a half weeks and close at 5pm on Friday 18 May 2018.
All applicants are encouraged to email the MMW team directly with any questions regarding EOIs at email@example.com. Furthermore, any additional information or changes made to your application after submission can be directed to that email address.
Successful applicants are awarded a programming slot based on their suitability when judged by the individual programming criteria, Terms and Conditions, MMW Target Market, MMW Vision andMMW Curatorial Statement.
