CHANGES (Collingwood, VIC)
July 3 - July 4
CHANGES ARE COMING
CHANGES returns in 2019 with a renewed focus on where the future of music will take us.
From its new headquarters at Abbotsford Convent in Abbotsford, on 3 and 4 July 2019, CHANGES – a collaboration between The Push, Yarra City Council, Music Victoria, APRA AMCOS, VMDO and the Victorian music community – will continue to interrogate where the industry is at and how far it can go in the realms of MUSIC, TECH, TALKS and IDEAS.
CHANGES in MUSIC
Artists in Victoria are at the forefront of the national music conversation, and this year CHANGES will collaborate with them – as well as local labels, agents and music organisations – to host an unparalleled live music experience. Over two nights, curated showcases and one-off gigs will draw CHANGES’ local, national and international guests into venues throughout Fitzroy, where musicians will demonstrate why Melbourne remains the country’s live music capital.
CHANGES in TECH
Technological innovation has always been a motivating force in the music industry. Through keynotes and conversations with experts and thought-leaders, CHANGES will lead the discussion on how tech will redefine the industry – whether that’s shaping the way music is recorded and distributed, revealing new methods of engagement for with artists and labels, or shining a light on the ways data affects decision-making. Knowing how the industry will change enables us to adapt, stay ahead and design future businesses accordingly.
CHANGES in TALKS
At the centre of a music industry conference is knowledge-sharing. As well as one-on-one meetings and networking opportunities, the conversation at CHANGES is driven by actionable advice, inspiring and reliable ideas, and informed opinion from a curated roster of local and international speakers. And by turning talks on their head, with a refreshed approach to delivering keynotes, workshops and masterclasses, the dialogue will be multi-directional.
CHANGES in IDEAS
By creating an inclusive and collaborative environment, CHANGES becomes a platform for honest discussion and meaningful connection. The open dialogue on the music industry lends itself to turning ideas, questions and hesitations into opportunities and new realities. CHANGES is where the conversation starts – after this, you can follow it anywhere.
CHANGES is supported by the Victorian Government through the Community Support Fund.
